Performing Arts Students Set the Stage for Success with Prestigious London Theatre Programme
Wednesday 21st October 2026

Two degree level students from Loughborough College Group’s IGNITE Performing Arts Academy in Melton Mowbray have beat out hundreds of young performers from across the country to earn prestigious spots in the Frantic Assembly Ignition programme.
From more than 500 applicants, BA (Hons) Performing Arts students Colby Myles and Dom Daw were selected as two of the 24 young people who will take part in the programme, held in London at the prestigious Frantic Assembly theatre company.
The group will devise two stage-ready performances across just five days, working with the Frantic Assembly Creatives before taking to the stage at the iconic LAMDA drama school, performing their work in front of a public audience.
Curriculum Head for Performing Arts at IGNITE, Cat Webb shared her excitement for the two students, stating: “Colby and Dom have come such a long way. They joined us at IGNITE for their Level 3 studies before progressing onto our degree programme - we couldn’t be prouder of them!
“They have a fantastic work ethic and are both so genuinely talented. It has been amazing seeing them develop over the years, and I can’t wait for them to showcase their abilities on a national stage.”
Launched in 2008, the Ignition programme brings together a company of 24 young people with little or no prior experience in the theatre. Participants are offered a year-round access programme that continues to develop, mentor, and signpost training and career opportunities with Frantic Assembly and their partners. Alumni of the programme include Laurence Olivier Award winning actor, Paapa Essiedu.
Performing Arts courses at Loughborough College Group’s dedicated IGNITE Academy benefit from industry links, state-of-the-art facilities, and experienced teachers with a range of specialisms.
